We wanted to stay at a nice place for the weekend so we decided to look up some Galena lodging since I used to live near there when I was younger. I have always liked that part of the country so I thought we would have a really nice time there, and as it turns out we did.

We first found a great place to stay after searching online and we booked a room at one of the Galena inns for a weekend stay. I knew I wanted to make it a surprise for my wife so I did not tell her until the last minute, in fact I told her after we were only a few miles from the Galena inn location.

We had a great time walking through the gardens around the property followed by a nice dinner. The architecture and design of the historic building was beautiful and was certainly breath taking. I am not sure the exact square footage of some of the Galena inns but the one we stayed in was huge and seemed to never end as we walked around from room to room.

After a peaceful night of sleep we awoke to some great room service. Breakfast was a huge meal of almost anything you could think of. We definitely enjoyed our stay and look forward to some great Galena lodging again in the near future.
