My father is a really serious man. Well, I can’t blame him. He came from a poor family in the country side. He grew up having a very difficult life and he can’t almost finish his studies because his parents can’t support him financially. However, because of his persistence, courage, and natural intelligence, he was able to earn a degree in finance, and was able to have a good job. Now, he has fulfilled more than he ever wished for, but we all know how the getting-there was tough. He climbed the ladder one difficult step at a time.

When we were born, he worked even harder, and I and my brother saw that. We are indeed very grateful for his being a good provider, so we can’t really blame him if he gets too serious most of the time. However, since both of us have already finished our studies, and my father need not to worry too much for us anymore, I want my father to learn how to enjoy life.

 

That is why I thought of giving him a funny t shirt for his birthday. I saw t shirts in an online shop that read, “Sometimes, a little brain damage can help” and some other funny quote. When I gave it to him, he gave me a very precious smile. I can’t help myself by cry. We hugged, and I knew I sent the message successfully.
